Gedung yang sekarang menjadi Bank Central Asia ini adalah gedung hotel YMCA yang dibangun Tahun 1930 oleh Biro Arsitek Karel Bosh. Sebelumnya adalah Hotel Mabes dan Malangsche Apotheek. Pada saat itu, hotel tersebut adalah hotel jaringan Internasional pertama di Malang dengan pemandangan keluar Gunung Kawi yang dikenal sebagai Putri Tidur.
